Last Friday, Julian Bracewell, Founder and CRO of Pest2Kill, took a leap for charity – literally! This year marked Julian’s second brave appearance at the CEO Dare to Cure event, a thrilling fundraiser hosted by The Children’s Cancer Institute. His leap raised over $7,300 for The Children’s Cancer Institute, building on last year’s total and bringing his two-year fundraising impact to over $14,000. And he did it in style: dressed as a giant cockroach!
For those who’ve been following Julian’s journey, you’ll know he isn’t one to shy away from his fears. Last year, he faced his deepest phobia in the “snake bath” challenge, giving everyone a good laugh (and maybe even some heart palpitations) as he braved a tub full of slithering serpents. That terrifying bath didn’t just entertain, though; it helped Julian raise over $6,800, making his debut Dare to Cure a huge success.
This year, Julian wanted to up the ante with a 7-metre Stunt Jump. Conquering his fear of heights, Julian’s cockroach-clad leap showed everyone that he’s more than willing to go the extra mile (or metre!) for the children who need it most.
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, now imagine hearing the words ‘your child has cancer’. This year more than 1000 families will hear those words and you may not know, but cancer still kills more kids in Australia than any other disease. Every week nearly three Australian children and adolescents will die of cancer.
This is the WHY behind Julian’s fundraising efforts. It’s not too late to donate! Click here if you would like to contribute to this incredible cause.
Thank you to the amazing Children’s Cancer Institute for organising the event and welcoming us with open arms. We can’t wait to see which dare Jules takes on next year!
