At Pest2Kill, we’ve always believed pest control is about more than removing pests. It’s about creating safe, healthy environments where people can feel secure in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

That’s why this year marks a milestone we’re incredibly proud of – five years of supporting Women’s Community Shelters (WCS), an organisation doing life-changing work for women and children across Australia. 🩷

Supporting Women and Children in Crisis

Women’s Community Shelters is an Australian not-for-profit charity that partners with local communities to establish crisis accommodation shelters for women escaping homelessness, domestic violence, and family violence.

Their shelters provide much more than just a place to stay. Alongside crisis accommodation, WCS offers active case management and tailored support to help residents rebuild stability, safety, and independence.

For many women and children arriving at a shelter, it’s one of the most vulnerable and uncertain moments of their lives. Having access to a clean, safe, and comfortable environment can make a meaningful difference during that transition.

The Growing Need for Crisis Accommodation in Australia

The demand for crisis accommodation continues to grow across Australia.

According to Women’s Community Shelters, for every single bed available in their shelters, an average of five requests are received. That statistic alone highlights just how urgent the need is.

Behind every request is a real person – often a woman and her children – seeking safety, support, and somewhere secure to turn.

Organisations like WCS play a critical role in helping communities respond to domestic violence and homelessness, but they rely heavily on partnerships, donations, and community support to continue expanding their reach.

How Pest2Kill Has Supported WCS Since 2021

Since 2021, Pest2Kill has proudly provided complimentary pest control services across the Women’s Community Shelters network.

To date, our team has completed more than 55 pest control services across WCS shelters.

While pest management may seem like a small part of the bigger picture, maintaining a healthy and hygienic environment is essential in any accommodation setting – especially in crisis housing where residents deserve peace of mind and comfort.

Our services help ensure shelters remain:

  • Safe and hygienic
  • Comfortable for residents and families
  • Protected from common pests
  • Maintained to high health and safety standards

For us, this partnership has always been about contributing in a practical and meaningful way using the skills and services we provide every day.

Why Giving Back Matters to Pest2Kill

As a local Australian business, we believe supporting the community is part of our responsibility.

Over the years, we’ve worked with homes, businesses, schools, hospitality venues, and commercial properties across Sydney, but some of the most meaningful work we do happens behind the scenes through community partnerships like this one.

We know a safe home should also be a healthy one.

Being able to support women and children during difficult times is something our entire team is proud to be part of.

Looking Ahead

Five years on, we’re incredibly grateful to Women’s Community Shelters for the opportunity to contribute to the important work they do every single day.

We also want to acknowledge the dedication of the shelter teams, volunteers, support workers, and local communities helping make these safe spaces possible.

There’s still more work to be done, and we look forward to continuing our support into the future.
