As such, Brian is our Historical/Cultural Buildings Lead Technician for the purpose of the tender (see Proposed Key Personnel section in tender response).
“I am the owner of Hinchcliff House, a heritage-listed former wool store in Circular Quay. Hinchcliff was restored and reinterpreted for retail use in 2021, and it now houses four levels of dining and drinking experiences open to the public. In running these venues, it is crucial that we preserve the structure and aesthetic appeal in line with the guidelines and restrictions placed on heritage-listed buildings. We have a select number of trusted suppliers we work with who understand our unique position – one of which is Pest2Kill.
Pest2Kill have been managing our pest control since Hinchcliff House was in the redevelopment stage two years ago. In that time, the entire Pest2KIll team have been diligent, professional and communicative. In addition to ongoing general pest treatments, they have implemented an effective rodent control plan for the building. Due to the location, structure and age of Hinchcliff, Pest2Kill focused on sealing rodent entry points to minimise access which has been successful in keeping the issue under control. Their technicians take great care when undertaking any works and are considerate of our heritage-listed status when designing our pest management plans.
I have no hesitations in recommending the Pest2Kill team to any businesses considering using them for ongoing pest control.”

Pest Control for Historical & Heritage Listed Buildings
We are experienced in managing all kinds of pests in heritage buildings and similar sensitive environments, and our technicians are trained in adopting a specific approach to meet the individual needs of these locations, such as:
Risk Management/Preventative Pest Management
The importance of regular inspections and preventative maintenance in a Pest Management Plan to protect and preserve the precious objects (art, cultural property, stock) at risk of damage from a pest infestation, which could be from termites, fabric pests/carpet beetles, general pests, rodents or birds. Our goal is to prevent a pest infestation before it starts by developing and following a strict Integrated Pest Management Plan, focusing on routine monitoring, housekeeping recommendations, and appropriate treatment.
Usage of Pesticides/Fumigation
Due to the sensitive nature of these kinds of buildings, when pest treatment is required we must take a considered and careful approach, particularly in relation to the usage of pesticides. We prioritise non-chemical solutions and techniques first, such as sealing pest entry points and traps. If it is necessary that pesticides are used to control an infestation, we apply any product with precision and care, taking into account the surrounding environment and any restrictions.
Guidelines/Restrictions
Understanding and working within guidelines and restrictions set out for each location. We take the time to research and understand each location’s pest management objectives and consider any protocols or limitations when developing our plan. We acknowledge the sacredness and cultural significance of these kinds of locations, ensuring we do not disturb this or undertake any works that are outside our scope or expertise. For example, our client Hinchliff House is heritage-listed and we therefore must preserve the aesthetic appeal of the building; we have included a testimonial below that explains this in more detail.
